Leola Brown Fulwood, 83, of Clairton was born March 3, 1937, in Gadsden, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Melton Sumpter, Sr. and Hattie Taylor Brown. Leola relocated from South Carolina to Clairton, where she met and married Clarence Fulwood. Leola departed this life peacefully on February 18, 2021, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Fulwood, sister Wilhelmina Davis and brother, Melton Sumpter, Jr. Leola was a self-employed business owner for over 20 years. After retiring from her business, she went on to work for Sears and Home Instead. Finally, retiring at the age of 80. Mother Leola was an active, longtime, faithful member of The Church of the Lord Jesus of the Apostolic Faith. “Speak quietly and let your actions shout”! Leola was a willing worker always ready to assist with a project. She had a passion for sewing and home decorating. Her other interest included shopping, traveling, and going to artistic performances. “Love is patient, Love is kind, Love never ends”. Leola was a loving and caring person thinking of others. Reaching out when she was needed. Her loving strength, tenacity, dry wit, and perseverance will be remembered. Leola is survived by her daughters Deverdine and Wanda both of Pittsburgh; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
