Mother Frances Fontaine, transitioned from Earth to Eternity on June 19, 2021, in Florida. She was born April 25, 1928, in Eastover, S.C., daughter of the late Elijah and Julia Gilmore Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Gilbert H. Fontaine; sisters, Elizabeth Branham, MaeBell Chapman, Susie Bolton, and Viola Chapman; brothers Butler Chapman, Charlie Chapman, Clarence Chapman, Elijah Chapman, Jr., and James Chapman.
Mother Fontaine loved the Lord, a devoted prayer warrior, faithful servant and church mother at Trinity Church of God in Christ of McKeesport, and a former servant at Morningstar Baptist Church, Clairton. She was a loving and committed woman of God, homemaker, mother, foster-mother to many, and loved her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Launa(Milton) Lawhorn, Texas and Shirley(James) Johnson, Florida; sons, Fred (Elaine) Howard, McKeesport and Martell Fontaine, White Oak; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends
