William Booker Obituary
William Andre` Booker, affectionately known as “HUCK” 63, of McKeesport, was born April 15, 1963, in McKeesport, PA. He was the beloved son of Ernestine Pickens Booker of Clairton and the late Vernal “Dee Dee” Booker. William graduated from Clairton High School, Class of 1982, where he proudly played on the Clairton Football team all four years. He was recognized as one of the Academic Senior Standouts, served on the Senior Council, and was admired as one of the best-dressed young men in school.
William was a man of his word, a kind-hearted soul, and a hardworking man who always tried to help others in whatever way he could. He had a heart that cared deeply, and even when he could not do everything he wished to do, he always tried to make a difference in the lives of those around him. William believed in hard work and perseverance. He worked for a number of years at Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, where he dedicated himself to his job. He was also a boxer at one time, participating in a few fights. His life was a journey filled with experiences, challenges, strength, and determination. He later worked at Rivers Casino on the north side for about five years, continuing to demonstrate his hardworking nature and commitment to providing for himself and his loved ones.
Family was an important part of William’s life. His mother held a very special place in his heart; he loved his brothers and sister dearly. The love he had for his family was a part of who he was, and the memories they shared with him will forever remain precious. To his beloved daughter Terra , he was a father whose love knew no bounds. She was the apple of his eye, someone who held a very special place in his heart. Although life sometimes kept them from seeing each other as often as they both would have wanted, the love he had for her remained meaningful and deep. He was very proud of his daughter and the person she became. Distance and time could never erase the bond they shared. William was also a very proud grandfather. Jordan his grandson brought him joy, and being a grandfather was a special part of his life. He was further blessed with a beautiful great-granddaughter adding another generation to his family legacy.
In July 2016, William married his beloved wife, Ola. Their marriage marked a special chapter in his life, one filled with companionship, shared experiences, and the journey of building a life together. As his wife, Ola shared in his life’s story, its beautiful moments, its challenges, and the memories that will forever remain in her heart. Losing someone you love is never easy. The absence of a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend leaves a space that words cannot fully describe. There will be moments when his loved ones wish they could hear his voice again, share one more conversation, or simply enjoy his presence. Yet, even in the midst of grief, the love he gave and the memories he left behind remain gifts that death cannot take away.
William’s life was more than the years he spent on earth. It was the relationships he built, the people he loved, the work he did, and the memories he created along the way. He was a man with his own story, his own struggles, and his own unique place in the lives of those who knew him. William departed this life on September 1, 2026, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernal "Dee Dee" Booker, Sr., brothers, “Blaze” Booker, and Carlos Booker.
Though he is no longer physically present, his memory will continue to live on through his beloved mother, lovely wife, Ola; only daughter, Terra; grandson, Jordan (Emma) Ross; great-granddaughter, Leilani Ross; sister, Jacqueline (Daryl) Cameron; brothers, Vernal Jeffery Booker and Benjamin F. Booker; host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and everyone who held him dear. His story will continue to be told, his name will continue to be remembered, and the love he shared will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.
William Andre Booker, you will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Rest peacefully, William. Your life was a gift, your memories are treasures, and your love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
