Obituary
Mary Lou was born to Anne and Richard Batch on Pearl Habor Day 1944, the third daughter of four – Donna, Sally, Mary Lou, and Lois (Gizzy). She was a cheerleader, and attended Central State University in Ohio majoring in Education matriculating to Syracuse University where she earned a master’s degree in counseling and education and later graduated from Pitt with a PH. D. in Psychology.
She married and gave birth to a daughter in Germany where her husband was stationed, and she was employed by the Department of Defense as an instructor for military personnel. Returning home from Germany Mary taught school in Elizabeth, Indiana University, and Virginia.
She became Nana in Virginia and lost her daughter and grandson in a housefire in which she was injured. Through her eyes of faith, she knew she would see them again. Her faith and love of people showed us humility and patience.
Mary Lou faced difficult times in life but never complained nor talked negatively about anyone. She was a Jesus follower and lived to connect people with God’s Kingdom. She was appreciated and loved by all who knew her. We will see her again.
