Carole Rae Johnston, 88, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. She was born on December 5, 1936 in Port Vue and was the daughter of the late Milton and Merle (Gray) Moore. She was the loving wife of the late Fred C. Johnston, Sr. who passed away June 29, 1996. Carole was a part of the Elizabeth Forward Meals on Wheels and a member of the Central Volunteer Fire Hall Women's Auxiliary. She was a proud wife of a Navy Veteran, and she enjoyed quilting, baking and making flower arrangements. She is survived by her sons, Joseph E. (Nannette) Johnston and Fred C. "Chuck" (Diane) Johnston, Jr. both of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Benjamin, Sarah, Katelyn and Rebekah; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Moore; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her 9 siblings, Della, Lucille, Patricia, Leonard, Milton, Ellen, Esther, Doris and Jack. Friends are welcomed Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 2-6 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11 AM. Inurnment will be held at Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth.
